About the Game
The first mainline Onimusha in 20 years — and it is not a soulslike.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is Capcom’s revival of its samurai action series — a swordplay action game (their words) set in a Malice-corrupted Kyoto of the early Edo period. You play a young Miyamoto Musashi, face-modeled on screen legend Toshiro Mifune, wielding the soul-drinking Oni Gauntlet against the demonic Genma.
The combat loop is parry, deflect, and Issen — one-flash counter kills with a family of variants — layered over stage-based levels and an open-town Kyoto hub. Roughly 20 hours, fully single-player, out September 4, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.
